Cat Litter Mine

Post by larcor »

Hi Everyone, Thanks for the invite to this awesome web-site.
I do have a question. Does anyone have any pictures or info on a cat litter mining operation
in the Panamints? It would have been active around 1970.
Thanks in advance.

It's at thebottom of the Slate Range Crossing, just northwest of where Water Canyon crosses the Trona Wildrose Rd.
You can't see the true desert or real history from a paved road!

If you believe a politician has the answer, it must have been a dumb question!

Some old mining scars and roads. A few pieces of rotten and broken lumber. Might be more farther from the main road, but I have never probed farther.
