Re: SteveS here

Howdy Steve. A lot of water under the bridge. I’m up near Winnemucca, NV, came in ‘08. In ‘19 I gave my trusty and true Tacoma to my grandson and replaced it with a 4Runner. I’ve been retired since ‘16. Yes, much slower here. I check daily. A lot of core members have moved on or moved elsewhere.

Re: Hey guys, what are your guy's favorite places to travel to?

Been slow. Fishing through old threads.

Right now, I wouldn’t mind heading back to my old stomping grounds. It’s been six years since I last passed through along US395 from southern California. Haven’t been much anywhere in the past three years. :(

I don’t have a FB account, thus the paywalls and popups. Modern social media doesn’t interest me. Then again, I just don’t have the data (cellular only in my area) for such nonsense.

Re: much sadness

The rare time I've opened Facebook was by following a link. Then as soon as my eyes focus on the page what I came there for is instantly buried in an avelanche of paywalls and pop ups. That is an instant turn off for me. That was years ago. With all the BS that has risen from and has come to light f...

Re: much sadness

As far as this forum is concerned I didn't really like it as much when it filled up with thousands of unknown people. I like it much better now and just wish more of the old core group would chime in once in a while. :camping: That was my reason for starting the “Slow Decline” thread, hoping to spu...

Re: Hello from Orange, CA.

Old Fords are great trucks. Almost as good as my now old Toyota ... Had a 1970 F-250 4x4 when I lived in June Lake during the 1970s and 1980s. Original owner bought it new at the Ford dealer in Bishop. Basic truck, 360 inch V8, 4-speed, no power steering or brakes, no AC. Sold it to my brothe...

Re: Hello from San Diego

Welcome! All the cool kids have 619 area codes 8) I guess all of the Owens Valley, Ridgecrest and Trona members are left out. They used to be 619 kids, and baby boomers were 714 kids before that ... Hell, some of us here even remember when all we had to do was dial the last four digits ... A...

Re: Surprise Canyon

On my only hike up to PC in 1997, I wore tennis shoes for the first leg, which is almost entirely through running water. I cached my shoes and wet socks at Limekiln Spring and retrieve them the following day upon exiting.
