Re: where is Dezdan

I've found a lot of stuff that way and been guided to a lot of books and magazines that I've had to track down. I might have given away a lot of those books and magazines that you are looking for, on that day at PSR when I took that photo of Dan. A few years before I sold my large home in Ridgecres...

Re: where is Dezdan

I've met Dan in person several times, the last being here in Winnemucca and along with Chris (B-spec). Both were working for the Park Service and were heading north to northern Washington state. He was just a kid when I first met him, but super enthusiastic. Back in the late 1990s there was a forum ...

Re: where is Dezdan

Last time I saw and spoke with Dan was in 2009. I don't have contact info for him. I found the above from a quick search. And after his rapid withdrawal from the two forums he hosted (this and d-v.com) I believe he simply wants to live life offline.

Yes, Doug. I understand your pain. I suffer with chronic knee pain as well. I know they need addressing, but I have a phobia of doctors with a big needle full of cortisone and an evil grin. I have other health issues stemming from my years working in Trona; but everyone I know that worked in industr...

Oh, and here I always thought you were older than me ... I've got you beat by a few years ... But at least you got to retire far sooner than I did, by 16 years ... :? Well, anyway, welcome BACK to the board! :D

Re: SteveS here

Howdy Steve. A lot of water under the bridge. I’m up near Winnemucca, NV, came in ‘08. In ‘19 I gave my trusty and true Tacoma to my grandson and replaced it with a 4Runner. I’ve been retired since ‘16. Yes, much slower here. I check daily. A lot of core members have moved on or moved elsewhere.

Re: Hey guys, what are your guy's favorite places to travel to?

Been slow. Fishing through old threads.

Right now, I wouldn’t mind heading back to my old stomping grounds. It’s been six years since I last passed through along US395 from southern California. Haven’t been much anywhere in the past three years. :(

I don’t have a FB account, thus the paywalls and popups. Modern social media doesn’t interest me. Then again, I just don’t have the data (cellular only in my area) for such nonsense.

Re: much sadness

The rare time I've opened Facebook was by following a link. Then as soon as my eyes focus on the page what I came there for is instantly buried in an avelanche of paywalls and pop ups. That is an instant turn off for me. That was years ago. With all the BS that has risen from and has come to light f...

Re: much sadness

As far as this forum is concerned I didn't really like it as much when it filled up with thousands of unknown people. I like it much better now and just wish more of the old core group would chime in once in a while. :camping: That was my reason for starting the “Slow Decline” thread, hoping to spu...
